WECode 2023 was a huge milestone—it was our first hybrid conference and our first in-person event since 2019! Held February 18-19, 2023, we brought together 955 attendees from 23 countries, with 609 joining us in person and 346 tuning in virtually. The hybrid format let us connect with even more amazing women from around the globe while celebrating the energy of being back together in person.

The weekend was packed with incredible moments, from thought-provoking keynotes to mentorship circles and hands-on career opportunities. Highlights included talks from Sheryl Sandberg, Karen Horting (Society of Women Engineers), and Maria Klawe (President of Harvey Mudd College), who shared inspiring insights on leadership, engineering, and why women and computer science are a perfect match. We also heard from Barbara Liskov (Turing Award winner) and Lori Goler (Meta) about innovation, inclusion, and what’s next in tech.

WECode 2023 wasn’t just about learning—it was about building community, sharing ideas, and creating space for women in computer science to thrive. Whether you joined in person or virtually, this year’s conference was a powerful reminder of the strength of our community and our shared mission to inspire, empower, and lead.
